On Friday, January 22nd following a fundraiser for his daughter's soccer team, Nick began experiencing a severe headache and vomiting. As his condition worsened, Becky made the decision to take him to Mercy ER.
In the ER it was discovered that Nick had a ruptured brain aneurysm and needed immediate surgery to stop the bleeding and relieve the pressure on the brain. After two surgeries Nick is in stable but critical condition. He currently remains intubated and has a drain to continue to remove fluid from the brain. He is sedated to allow the brain and body to rest.
Nick will remain in the Intensive Care Unit for 7 to 10 days since this will be a critical time to monitor him to prevent the possibility of another aneurysm or stroke.
Those of us that are fortunate enough to be close to Nick know that he is an amazing person, wonderful husband, and incredibly loving father to his 3 beautiful daughters...and soon to be 4 daughters with baby #4 due in March!
The outpouring of love, support, and prayers for Nick, Becky, and their family has been overwhelming and they are beyond touched and grateful. Nick has a long road ahead of him and his prognosis is uncertain. His family will continue to need our support throughout this journey.
We have created this fund to help Becky and the girls with expenses while Nick is on his road to recovery. Your generosity and contributions are greatly appreciated.
Nick is strong and will fight hard. We will continue to keep you posted on Nick's progress. Please keep Nick, Becky, the girls, and both their families in your thoughts and prayers.
