June 30, 2016 started off as any other day for Drew Kelley. But no one could prepare for the events that would unfold later that night.
The Time Line of Tragedy…
11:28pm: Pounding on the door.
“Come on Steph we have to go. Drew was in a wreck.”
11:34pm: Incoming Call
"Inaudible.....Mommy....Daddy....Drew was in a wreck."
11:37pm: Incoming Call
"Your sister is hysterical. Drew was in a wreck we're on our way to your sister."
11:39pm: Outgoing Call
"Andy, Drew was in an accident. You and Helen need to get to the hospital. He is breathing on his own."
11:43pm: Outgoing Call
"He was is a wreck. It's near their house. I can hear the sirens. Just head towards their house. Call when you get there."
11:46pm: Incoming Call
"We are at the wreck site. There are a ton of lights. The ambulance is leaving now. We are taking Steph to the hospital."
12:10am: Incoming Call
"Drew was in a wreck on motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet. He's covered in road rash. He's in a lot of pain. You can tell he is out of it, because he doesn't remember what happened that day at all."
ER Room… **Graphic**
Neck brace.
Bloody nose.
Hard to breath.
Who are all these people.
Bones coming out of his leg.
Unable to recall what happened that day.
Where does it hurt is answered with everywhere each time.
Nurses and Doctors everywhere. Questions from all sides, “Do you know his medical history? Does he have any allergies? What happened?” The protocol of every trauma center, the protocol no wife, daughter or child should have to go through.
X-Rays, CT Scans, Fluids, Pain medication.
Medically… **May Be Graphic**
Drew’s injuries are, but are not limited too.
Fractured C1, C4 and shattered C7. All of these are located in the top section of his spine.
The Neurologist said that he has never seen a motorcycle wreck where the shoulders and spinal fractures have not resulted in a spinal cord injury (paralysis).
Attached is picture showing you which disks are in control of what.

Drew does have bruised lungs and is getting oxygen, because he kept saying it was hard to breath. Right now is oxygen is at 50%. Some of the difficultly he is having breathing is because of his C4 fracture.
His femur is broken in 2 - 3 places and it was a compound fracture. Traction is being used right now to pull the bones back in place. As a temporary fix an Orthopedic surgeon has Drew scheduled to have an external fixation device secured on to his broken leg. Then once he is stable he will have a rod and pins put in next week.
*For those of you who know Drew he has always had issues with his left knee, well now he will have issues with his right one as well.
He also has fractures in his face and skull. Most of his facial fractures are around his right eye.
Then lastly he has road burn on his face, shoulder, arms, hands, right side and legs.
Drew most likely has more broken bones, but he hurts all over and his pain locations are so numerous to pin point.
He still was able to laugh and talk a little, but isn't completely aware of where he is.
Why Donate…
Many of our family and friends have been asking if there is any way they can help. That is why I set this page up for them. Stephanie and Drew have been the support system for many of their friends and family. They are both two great people and are in a great time of need. With Drew not being able to work they are going to have medical bills. Any little amount would be greatly appreciated.
With the overwhelming amount of love on Facebook from family and friends we are so grateful for every comment you all have left. We will post updates as often as we can!
Again, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
