Well, I can say I've known him for fifty years and yes, there are stories to tell, but I won't here.
I can also say, I've learned so much from him over the years. We spent our teenage years learning about
life and music, realizing, music was far better. We both went on to our own careers, but have been working
together again these last few.
Rick is very respected in the musical community, having released two CD's and loyaly using all his musician
friends on the projects. He's loved by friends and family alike.
This love is why I'm writing this.
Rick has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He's getting treatment for it and we all are waiting
for him to heal.
In the meantime, as you can imagine, expenses are starting to become a strain.
Yes, he's a veteran and the V.A. is doing all they can, but personal expenses are another thing.
So, on July 9th, There will be a Tribute/Benefit to help Rick, and his wonderful wife Stacey, get through this hard time.
I'd like to see all his freinds make an appearance and contribute anything they can, even if it's just
their love and support.
Where: Lennies Club
When July 9th
Time: 1:00pm Till 2:00am
As per any tribute to a great musician, there will be music all day and night, hosted by The David Thayer Band.
(Band schedule to be announced later as we hear from those who want to be involved)
Lot's of auctions
Lot's of things for sale, including Ricks CD's
Lot's of food
And a skype feed in case Rick can't actually make it, so he can be in on the festivities!
Also, our good friends from jukezoo.com will be broadcasting the event on the internet, allowing veterans from
all over the world to show support for one of their own. They will also have DVD's of the event for sale, donating
the proceeds to Rick.
Please share this with everyone, even if they don't know Rick personally, they're invited to the party!
