Hi, my name is Lee and I'm raising funds to afford surgery for my lovely dog Goofy.
We first had concerns about Goofy's wellbeing after he'd been limping for a few weeks after getting his first grooming. Unfortunately, because we struggle financially, we couldn't get him seen by a vet as quickly as we'd like to, but we got him checked, including x-rays, as soon as we could. Sadly, the vet diagnosed Goofy with a Valgus Malformation (genetic malformation in his front leg), which, if left untreated before Goofy is a year old, will mean that he won't be able to walk properly, leading to constant pain and further related difficulties - and whilst long-term medical treatment may help him, this option is not in his best interest and will be more expensive in the long term.
I am a full-time student but have luckily been able to find a part-time job to fit around my studies, so that I can save money toward the consultation and surgery costs, which will be around £4000. However, as Goofy has just turned 8 months old and will need the surgery by 15th December, I don't have enough time to save the amount needed. So, I am appealing to you and asking for your donation, however big or small - every penny will help get my precious Goofy the surgery he desperately needs.
I really hope you understand how much this means to me and my family and I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. I would also love to thank my partner and a friend for coming up with the idea of a GoFundMe page - I couldn't have done it without their help.
