From Debra Gloria and Roland Gloria, Jr.
On July 5th our sister, Brenda, was admitted to ICU with septic shock from a UTI infection. She was in critical condition. Her kidneys were close to failing and her heart was in AFib. The ER doctor told mom he wasn't sure if she was going make it. She survived, and went home on July 16th, receiving more antibiotics at home through a PICC line. She was still so weak when she got home, but was improving a little each day.
Although her strength was lacking, she planned to return to work part-time on August 8th. But on the previous Sunday, she began having symptoms again. The following day she was admitted back into the hospital again. Unfortunately, the bacteria is an antibiotic resistant type of superbug called ESBL Klebsiella. We still don't know how long she'll be in the hospital.
Unfortunately, because of this medical hardship, she's been unable to work. Because she works for herself doing permanent cosmetics, there has been no income. The medical bills are piling up. She does have health insurance, but with a very high deductible of $6500.00 which she will have to pay out of pocket.
We know she's very stressed out because she hasn't worked. She's a very responsible person, and has dealt with big health issues the last 2 years, which depleted her savings... uterine cancer in 2017... AFib in 2018... and now this.
On behalf of our sister, Brenda, we're asking for your help. Anything you can do is appreciated.
We also are asking for your prayers that this thing would be killed with the antibiotics once and for all. Thank you and God bless.
