michael s. calhoon was 36 years old when he passed on from a battle with brain cancer. he leaves his wife of 14 years chrissy and his four children seth (11) allison (9) jaime (7) and natalie (5). this fund is an opportunity for us to contribute to his kids' college educations.
calhoon was an example to family and friends by the way he carried himself in life. many of us knew michael from strength training and running. he would show up day after day through heat and snow, always did more than was asked of him and never complained. if someone started to falter on a hill calhoon could be found staying by their side until they reached the top. even when the brain tumor made it impossible for him to grip the barbell, he still showed up to train. he just used straps to help him hold the bar.
he lifted up others in life by the way he engaged adversity quietly; he was steadfast. he kept his word to himself and to those around him, and by this he lives on -- determined, loyal and, above all, brave.
tribestrength is the community through which many of us connected to calhoon. if anyone is not familliar with tribestrength and would like to see what such a big part of michael's life was about, check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/tribestrengthtraining/?fref=nf
