Singing opera in New York City!

Dear Friends and Family!
I'm ecstatic to be able to tell you that I have been accepted into the Manhattan Opera Studio Program this summer singing the role of the Sandman in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and the roles of the Queen of the Night and the first lady from Mozart's Magic Flute in the opera scenes concert with the orchestra!! This is a tremendous opportunity for me as I will be performing in the heart of New York, have masterclasses with Metropolitan Opera conductor Roger Malouf and agent Lewis Ehlers from Lombardo associates, and have weekly music and repertoire coachings to further my growth as an artist.
Programs like these are essential in taking the step from student to emerging professional, as I pull my focus into who I am as an artist, develop the strength I need to succeed and begin valuable networking with some of the top professionals in the industry.
In order for me to be able to take this leap, I will need to fund myself for several months in NYC, which for a young musician is no easy feat.
Subleasing an apartment in Brooklyn: $2,225 total for two months
Transportation to NYC from Wilmington, NC: $800
Transportation to Manhattan from Brooklyn via subway: $250 for two months
Food/music/misc costs: $1,500
I am over the moon happy to have this opportunity to study in New York this summer and to perform with the professional opera company there.
I always appreciate your support for my artistic endeavors as I move forward with my budding career. I really don't have enough words to express how grateful I am for the love, compassion, patience and encouragement I have recieved over the years and continue to recieve from my friends, family and church families. Thank you so , so much for all of your kindness! I hope to be able to pay it forward to future budding artists someday, and share the love and inspiration with the next generation of musicians.
Until then, off to New York to make the first step in what I hope will be a great life of music!
