"The Streets is my Calling!"

Its hot, humid summer days with average temperatures hitting 94/ 95 degrees outside. Consistent rainy nights that easily start floods in Miami Dade County. Homeless sleeping on cement and using cardboard boxes as blankets. Everyday homeless people get walked over like trash or get disregarded like they are not part of society. Majority of people become homeless as a result of unforeseen problems. Many people mistakenly think that homelessness is a lifestyle choice,but that is far from it. For instance, families in foreclosure, loss of income: any income disruption can create a housing crisis(unemployment, divorce, and medical issues); increased building costs, taxes, and utilities have reduced the availability of affordable housing; and domestic violence, victims of domestic violence many times have to leave their home with no possessions. It has been reported that 90% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and they are only two paychecks away from being homeless.

In Miami Dade County area it has alarming rates of homeless children/teens. Many find themselves on the streets alone and particulary at risk to engage in illegal and extremely dangerous activities as means to survive on their own. Prostitution, sex trafficking, drug trafficking are among the most common illicit activities homeless teens participate in Miami being only fourteen years old. Statistics also indicate that 50% of all homeless teens turn to prostitution within the first 48 hours before most organizations would be able to come into contact with them. Each year 5,000 homeless teens are buried in unmarked graves.

I have an extreme conviction to helping the unfortunate and the homeless. God put it in my heart a couple years ago to open a non profit to assist the homeless and the unfortunate. I then started getting involved and help serving the community under my church and my friends outreach programs. I learned alot and now I want to establish the ministry/nonprofit God instilled in my soul years ago. I want to rehabilitate every individual that I come in contact with from the outer to the internal(Drugs and emotional distress).

I want to achieve to feed more than 10,000 homeless people and families. Serve them food,water, chips, bibles, and toiletries. Also on holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving I want to rent a vacant lot to distribute Ham, Turkey, and side dishes so they can have genuine hot meal. I have many ideas that I would like to do but I know I would not be able to achieve these goals without God, prayers, and your support. Thank you soo much! Love you guys! Charles Mack
