Hello everyone. We are reaching out to family, friends and others to help save our sister's life.
Here's a brief description about our sister, Thai phan;
Our sister, Thai Hau Phan, recently turned 33 on June 26, 2016. She is a wonderful friend, sister, poet, and most of all, a great person. Our family came to America in 1992. Coming to a new country and not knowing the language, our parent just hit the ground running, only knowing how to work hard as they raised 8 young children. They did what they had to do, coming from Vietnam where they were struggling to have small meals put on our table. It was just a blessing we were able to come to what we call "the golden country." Seeing our parents work so hard was sad as we were all too young to help.
In 2010, we took over design 4 nails in Saint Helena, California. Thai, the second youngest girl, came to help out at the salon in 2013. She loved the clienteles and love coming to work but was never able to work as much because she was always sick. She had back pain, leg numbness, lower abdominal pain,etc.
Her Doctor told her many causes of her pain but we could never put it together. Then in August of 2015, Thai went in for a Pap-smear test she was diagnosed with Cervical cancer. We were all heartbroken because she loves kids so much and wanted to be a mother one day but that hope got shattered. It was stage 2 so we still had hope to beat this disease.
She finished her radiation and chemo treatment in January of 2016. Three months later when she went back for her PET scan she was told the cancer spread to her lymph nodes in left abdomen. She had her pelvic lymph node dissection surgery on April 29, 2016. We thought there was a chance again since we had surgery. Her recovery after surgery was very difficult. Every week we were in the emergency for different pain reasons; ureteral obstruction and hydronephrosis 2/2 progressive lymphadenopathy, kidney blockage, and intestines obstruction.
Now we are still fighting and hoping she will be with us longer. She is so strong and beautiful and brave even though the doctors say the cancer metastatic to intraabdominal LN. We need to find more answers and treatments to do everything we can while she fights this disease! We are hoping for a miracle and are asking for any help you can provide to help our family cover:
*The chance to go to UCSF for a second opinion & treatments
*Insurance bills for treatments
*Her only wish for our family to go on a vacation together before she starts chemotherapy
*Further financial support
Thank you so much for your time. We truly appreciate anything you can donate during this difficult time. If you are unable to give, please keep her in your prayers. We are hoping for a miracle to save our beloved sister, auntie, and daughter. From our family to yours, thank you for your care!
