Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
As some of you may know I have been battling a rare type of cancer (liposarcoma) for the past two years. I have been fortunate to have most of my treatments done at MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston Texas. The down side is all the traveling, almost on a monthly basis between El Paso and Houston which has taken a toll on our finances. Everything from lodging, transportation, food, co-pays, treatments have added up.
Luckily the VA has helped with some of these costs but it took a while for them to approve me attending MD Anderson for treatment. These past two years I have done everything from in/out patient chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Because of this I had to resign from my job at USPS.
As I write this, I am currently in a hospital room recovering from surgery at MD Anderson with the hopes of being released next week.
I normally would never ask for help but any little thing including sharing this post would mean a lot for my family and myself.
