The Roadrunners U17 Premier team started as a group of 10 and 11 year-old boys from Woodridge park district and played in the lowest (at that time 9th division) of Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL).
Every year the team advanced into higher divisions, the boys continued to develop and new good players from Romeoville, Naperville, Bolingbrook and Downers Grove joined the team.
In 2013, the team became and is now known under Roadrunners SC Premier. In 2014 the group has advanced and has since been playing in the top divison in NISL (the National Premier League NPL). They have twice reached the US Club Midwest Regionals Finals and attended the US Club Nationals last year.
In addition, the group is well known by their recent futsal endeavors. In the last three years they have been the US Youth Futsal (USYF) Midwest Regionals Champions twice and finalists once. All three years they have progressed to the USYF Nationals and went all the way to the finals this year.
Due to the success this team has had over the past few years, we have been invited to the prestigious Surf Cup in San Diego on July 30 - August 1, 2016. This is one of strongest tournaments in the US and is a tremendous opportunity for our boys to be seen by scouts from colleges and professional teams.
Unfortunately, the success of this team has often been limited by financial hardship of some of our families.
This is why we are turning to you, our friends, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, help us raise some funds and offset the high costs of the travel to San Diego.
Your generosity in helping the boys and the team achieve their goal will be greatly appreciated.
