Help the Thompson Family Grow

This is my youngest daughter Whitney, her husband Weston, and their little man Cooper, age 5. Whitney and Weston suffer from unexplained infertility, an actual medical diagnosis. Unexplained because myriad doctors can’t find anything wrong with either of them. Theirs is also classified as secondary infertility because, well, you see that darling child there? He was conceived without help, though it did take nearly 2 years for Whitney to get pregnant with him. For nearly 4 years, they have done all in their power to make sweet Cooper the big brother he longs to be, to add a child to their family and fill the hole in their home and hearts. They have undergone six intrauterine inseminations (IUI)—all failed— along with several other painful and invasive procedures to try to find the problem and solution. All to no avail.

So, needless to say, it’s been a rough few years for Whitney and Weston. And the next step on this road to adding to their family is prohibitively expensive: In vitro fertilization—the amazing science of implanting a fertilized egg in hopes of growing a boobaloo they can love, adore, and continually slobber over.

By way of introduction: My Whitney is a college graduate who majored in Technical Writing. She’s 29 and worked as an editor until Cooper arrived. She is now an independent consultant for Jamberry, and her business is thriving as she works from home. (This is a video link from her YouTube Channel if you’d like to meet her and understand her why https://youtu.be/zD1MiZCB0lk  )

Weston is 31, also a college graduate, and works as a research and development engineer in the biomedical field. They have been married eight years, they live in West Jordan, and they are faithful and active members of their ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

And they are both utterly devoted to their son.

Cooper has three passions—Legos, Star Wars, and reading. He is inhumanly kind. Funny. Loving. Energetic. Smart and inquisitive—particularly regarding obtaining a sibling (a brother has been specifically requested). He loves school and learning and is curious about all around him.

Whitney started her Jamberry business in November of 2014. After having tried unsuccessfully for baby #2 for a little over 2 years, she decided to save her Jamberry income and put it toward any and all of their increasingly expensive infertility needs, as insurance does not cover such things. All of their appointments, procedures, medications, etc. since have been paid for with Jamberry money, and it has been a huge blessing for their family. Unfortunately, the remainder of this little nest-egg is not enough to cover the cost of IVF.

Whitney has told me on several occasions that they know the Lord can bless them with this baby. Through the ups and downs of this journey, that knowledge has never wavered. But they have felt the importance of doing all in their power in order to receive this blessing.

So here we are.

We are asking for your help. Any contributions to our cause here will undoubtedly rain down blessings upon your heads forever. Any help you can give will change the lives not just of this little family, but of all their extended family who have felt the pain and disappointment on this long journey in their own ways. No child could be raised in a more stable, loving, value-centered home. No child could be more loved.

Infertility affects so many more than you may realize. Whitney and Weston are 1 in 8 couples who struggle with this heartbreak. Please share their story and give if you can. Thank you! Truly!
