Sonja was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekin's Lymphoma in January of 2014. She underwent surgery to remove the mass and began agressive chemotherapy to rid her of the cancer. In July of 2014 Sonja was given a clean bill of health and resumed her career helping others as a Registered Nurse at Urgent Care in Hanford. Sonja's vibrant personality and giving heart has touched so many through the years and even her recent bout with cancer never slowed her down. She continued helping others and has most recently been the life of the planning committee for her 40 year reunion. Her desire to make everyone's life just a little better never fails.
This month Sonja began having severe pain and upon examination a new mass was discovered and the cancer had returned. She has recently been admitted to Kaweah Delta hospital for a very agressive three day treatment of chemotherapy and will then be sent to Stanford Medical Center for further treatment and surgery. Although Non-Hodgekin's Lymphoma is a very agressive cancer, Sonja remains hopeful and is determined to "Kick Cancer's Ass"! Therefore the title, "KYAC" (Kick Your Ass Cancer) was coined with her best friend, Ann (Eberly) Cauthen.
Although she is ready and willing to fight, she will need help to fight the distraction of financial troubles so she can focus on the battle at hand. That is where we come in. She is asking for prayers from all of us for healing, comfort, and that her faith remain strong, but she is also in need of financial help.
