We were sent to the wrong Doctors in the wrong order....another 2 steps back.

A journey that started on January 4th with Pulmonary Embolism has unfolded into a battle that has God's merciful hands all over it!

Dustin (23) has been diagnosed with ALL - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, as well as Thyroid Cancer. He is also awaiting results for a nodule in his lung. Since Jan 4th he has had more tests and procedures than we'd like to admit - X-rays, CT scans, Labwork, EKG's, Biopsies of his thyroid, lungs and bone marrow, Lumbar Puncture, etc.

He just completed his first cycle of chemotherapy, with the next one coming in 3 weeks. So far, 4 aggressive cycles are scheduled. He will have to have surgery to remove his thyroid, but only after the Leukemia has been conquered. Chemotherapy will continue until the Leukenia surrenders, which could be 6 months, a year, 2 years....it is unknown

God has this battle under control. He has assembled a mighty army of Prayer Warriors and is already fighting! He blessed the "wrong" order of the Doctors so that the Leukemia could be found now instead of 4 weeks from now. ALL is aggressive and wastes no time.

To the many Prayer Warriors on the frontline with us - Thank You. We can't hug all of you in person, but your prayers mean everything to our family! And we gladly accept any new warriors that want to lift Dusty up in prayer. The appreciation from our family is beyond measure and the Glory is all His!

If you know Dusty, then you know he likes to keep too many irons in the fire at all times. He also likes to take out an iron and replace it with 2 more at any given moment. He is well suited for his job at Combs United School District as a bus monitor to pre-schoolers and special needs children. Mentoring comes naturally for him and he thoroughly enjoys making all of his little friends smile. He comments about missing them right now.

Dustin has also become a fan of DoorDash. He named his car Dasher! The fast pace and exploration of the area create the adventure that he craves. (Mama thinks he loves it so much because he is a true Foodie and just needs to know what cool restaurants are out there for him to try - LOL)

And, yes! He is still DrJamz every chance he gets. Our house is in party mode with his new mixes and music in general. Dusty has done several DJ events and has organized "Bike n Jam" bicycle rides in our neighborhood. Even now, he has his laptop and mixer with him to create music videos and ring tones - music is already playing an important role in his healing!

Medical bills are present and will be rolling in for the next 6+ months. We can not deny that Dusty is going to need some financial assistance. We are working on applying for Grants with advocates at the MD Anderson Center, and other resources that family members turned our attention to, but they are not a guarantee.

If you would like to, here is where you can help!
