Medical Bills

My wife suggested this after she had helped another person and thought it was a good idea.

Let’s start 8 months back...I received a diagnosis of diverticulitis, I had the resection surgery (3 hours long) that removed the 12" piece of intestine called the sigmoid colon, was discharged after 3 days.

On the 4th day I had the chills and a fever, back to the ER. They then came out and stated the resection didn't take and then off for emergency (4 hours long) surgery to put an ileostomy bag (similar to a colostomy bag), after the procedure my bowels didn't reactivate and they had to insert an NG tube through my nose into my stomach, so there was no fluid buildup. I was there for 30 days and wend from 145 lbs. to 120 lbs., as I could not eat and they didn't put the pick line for feeding from an IV until the last 2 days. Needless to say changing and adjusting to the bag was very difficult.

I then had the reversal surgery (5 hours) and was able to leave the hospital within 3 days.

After 3 months I was back to the Doctor with abdominal pain, the diagnosing was where the 4" incision where the stoma was slit open and I had a hernia, then where the 4" incision where they went in around my bellybutton was also had a large hernia. Well here we go again, another surgery (2 hours) to fix it.

Now I have to have another surgery to fix my C6 and C7 vertebrae, due to the deterioration of the muscle and bone from being in the bed for 30 days.

That would make for 5, surgeries, for me, in 8 months. Not to mention that my wife had surgery and that would make it 6. I must say that the bills pile up quickly.

I want to thank anyone who donates, I know sometimes it seems like a bi5 goal but every little bit helps.

In life there are twists and turns, the best way to make it through is to rely on your family and friends and keep a positive attitude.

For me, hopefully, that part of the difficult journey is close to an end.
