This is the picture Doug and I saw of Alex at 1:30 in the morning last September that sent my family's life into a tailspin. After almost seven months, Alex is finally ready to leave the hospital. He is truly a miracle. He was hit by a car that was going about 65mph in a 25mph zone and the girl that hit him just left him to die. Thank God for the skills of San Francisco paramedics who revived him and also for the skills of the doctors at San Francisco General Hospital who kept him alive. Because of this accident though, he is now permanently disabled. After numerous surgeries, catching COVID and suffering bouts of depression and anxiety, our boy is ready to come home. This is going to be a major life change for all of us. We have to get our house disabled ready, get a new vehicle to accommodate a disabled person and acquire resources to help Alex with his regular daily activities. We are also dealing with court issues and victim services that will probably take years to complete. We know times are hard for everyone right now, but if you are able to help, we would so appreciate it. Thank you so much for all of your love and support.
