In June 2016, I underwent extensive 5 hour surgery to remove a tumor from my neck. Soon after I received the bad news - the tumor was malignant - and that I have cancer.
Due to the rarity and complexity of the cancer, I have been referred to Melbourne for treatment by a head and neck cancer specialist from the Peter MacCallum Institute.
The surgery and medical imaging in Canberra has left us with out-of-pocket expences of more than $6000. I now require further surgery and more treatment in Melbourne. I do not know how our family can pay for this treatment.
I am the mother of 3 amazing children -Kayla (13, national swimmer), Natalie (11, a keen athlete) and Alex (8, fighting speech problems) who need their mum. Any donation would mean the world to me, and my family. I would be able to get the treatment I require to beat this awful disease.
