Friends and family... once again, my sister is in need of your help. Danielle has been struggling with a multitude of medical issues for the majority of her adult life. Along with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (a heart condition) she also suffers from severe pancreatitis, as a result of Cystic Fibrosis. It’s rare to be diagnosed with CF as an adult, but that’s our Danielle.. always keeping us on our toes.
On March 28th, she was suffering a major pancreatic attack in addition to chest pains. Her daughter called an ambulance. She’s now been in the hospital for a week and a half, and only one partial day was not in the ICU.
All of Danielle’s specialists are in Baltimore, but there were no beds available in the critical care unit, so on Saturday April 3rd, she was transferred from Wayne Memorial via Life Flight to the ICU at Geisinger in Scranton.
There’s a lot of fluid around her pancreas, and her lungs are frail. On Monday April 5th, the difficult decision was made to intubate and put her on a ventilator. She’s in a medically induced coma. The hope is that her lungs will heal while she rests, so she’ll be strong enough to breathe on her own again. Then the medical team can tackle the pancreas concerns.
Medical events are expensive, but she’s also a single mom with a teenage daughter who graduates this year (and a son getting married this fall!). Kallie is a fighter, just like mom, but they need help to “keep the lights on” during this crisis. We appreciate anything you can donate to help.... and even more so, will take all the prayers you can send their way. ❤️
