Hi everyone.
My coworker and dear friend is in need of some help but is too proud to ask for it herself. She is currently finishing school and is in her last term in her program at U of R. She currently needs $5000 to finish paying her tuition. Her parents, who were helping with tuition in the past, have lost their jobs due to the pandemic and can no longer provide assistance. She’s been working so many extra shifts, while still keeping up with school, trying to make ends meet. However, tuition deadline is quickly approaching and she cannot come up with the money herself. She’s applied for every grant and scholarship possible already. Every bank has denied her a loan or line of credit because she is not a permanent resident in Canada (yet!). If she cannot finish her schooling, she may not be able to stay in Canada on her student visa and her permanent residency application will be denied if she has to leave.
I understand it is tough times for everyone but if you are able, please donate. Help her stay in Canada and finish her schooling!
