Brain surgery/cancer treatments
Donation protected
What Nathan did this Summer!
Nathan’s summer began with a headache… brain surgery to remove a tumor and a diagnosis of Ewings Sarcoma (a soft tissue cancer). We are very lucky that he has been at Penn State Hershey Medical Center for radiation and chemotherapy treatments. He is in good spirits and hopes to get back to school by March 2017.
It would be an awesome 14th birthday present!
We are raising funds to help Nathan during his fight against cancer. He is lucky enough to be getting support from the Penn State Four Diamonds Fund. They are taking care of his Hershey Medical Center bills.
Additional expenses have come in the way of travel to Hershey, loss of work etc.
It is our intention to raise funds for Nathan's immediate needs and then give back to Four Diamonds as soon as his treatments are over.
Besides our family, there have been a few close friends and even strangers that have just been amazingly kind. Going to the grocery store with a gift card from a complete stranger nearly broke my heart but being able to let Nathan pick out as many of his favorite Blue drinks as he wanted, pull all his favorite yogurt from the shelf and even the BIG box of goldfish was (stress free for me) and fun for him. So, Thank you for that!
Please consider making a donation to either Nathan directly or to Four Diamonds at www.thon.org.
Sincerely,
Linda and David Smelser
