In Memory of Arnaud Gelb

We were all shocked and saddened to hear the news that our larger than life friend, Arnaud Gelb, passed away in his sleep on June 28, 2016. He was just 31.
We are all sitting here wondering how this person, who loved life so deliberately, can no longer be living that life. How someone who was always smiling and making jokes, can no longer be here to make us laugh. How someone who was teaching us every day to go out and live life to the fullest, can no longer be here to teach us. It is heartbreaking to know we will no longer see him running across the room or down the hall, we will no longer see his smile, his dimples, and the twinkle in his eye, and we will no longer hear the stories of his adventures going from one city to another in the accent we all loved.
He embraced his passions and occupied his free time covering basketball, traveling, ticking off visits to state capitals, national parks, college campuses, and stadiums, collecting basketball tickets and press passes, and scouring the earth for bobbleheads. He was not bold or loud or demanding of attention. He worked hard and took pride in what he did. He was an example of how not to waste any opportunity. When people say they 'want to live life to the fullest,' they mean they want to live like Arnaud.
Arnaud, thank you for teaching us how we should be living and reminding us that you get one life and sometimes that life is too short. You may be gone from our lives, but you will forever be in our hearts.
To his wife, Kelly, his parents, and family – our hearts ache for you because he know what a loss this is. He had so many friends from across the country that want to help in some way. I hope this helps to relieve some of the financial burden that comes along with losing someone, so you can focus on healing your hearts.
