My wife passed away unexpectedly on Easter Sunday. She was only 38 years old and had so much more life to live. Our two children and I were in South Korea and did our best to get home to her. As we were in the baggage check line I received a call from the doctors that she was unable to be brought back at 10:33 pm. As I stood in that line devastated my eldest looked at me as I shook my head with what I can only assume was pure unfiltered pain in my eyes. We never thought we would lose her.
We are a military family and though they have helped some, my wife’s wishes are difficult as she was living in Las Vegas but was transferred to California. Her mother is buried in Jacksonville Florida and that is where she wanted to be. I have to drive to California to retrieve my wife’s belongings, discuss transporting her body across country, fly to Jacksonville, setup and pay for the funeral, fly back to Las Vegas, pack her apartment and move it to storage. All while consoling my two boys, and contacting companies to notify them of her death. On top of that I have to return in just under 30 days to South Korea.
I put $30000 down just as a number. My wife did not want flowers sent as she wanted donations for her children and I. Any donations to help the family with expenses would be a blessing.
