Aaron McFarland: Cremation & Funeral
Donation protected
Friends and Family,
As many of you know, my brother Aaron McFarland passed away unexpectedly on March 28th. Aaron had bipolar disorder and was experiencing what we believe to be a severe manic episode with psychosis during which he suddenly stopped breathing. His death was tragic but there was no shame in it; I don’t wish to hide or sugarcoat the role mental illness played in his passing and I know he wouldn’t want me to either.
Death is always tragic, but Aaron was only 23 and the brutality of his passing has caused immeasurable pain for my family. He had so much life left to live, so much adventure to experience, so much love to give and receive.
Death is also, as we’re learning, not cheap. My parents are proud people and, to be frank, I’m doing this without their knowledge; your discretion is appreciated. I’m hoping that I can collect enough to cover the cremation and funeral costs and say that the money is coming from me and my partner, Max. Anything you are able to donate is deeply, deeply appreciated—if you are unable to donate, perhaps consider sharing the fundraiser.
With love and gratitude,
Megan
