My dear friend is in desperate need to get a kidney transplant and we are seeking for your help. This is Alzira's story, I hope you can help her, PLEASE.

My name is Alzira Vargas. I am 49 years old and am in desperate need for a kidney transplant, else I will not live for much longer. My problems started when I was three years old and fell into a month long coma and I was diagnosed diabetes mellitus type 1. As a result of this, I have developed chronic kidney damage and for the past several years I have been performing dialysis every day but this is no longer working for me as my kidneys are about to shut down.

After checking with several specialists and doctors in Mexico City I am told that the only solution for me is to receive a kidney transplant but I have not been able to find a compatible donor give that my blood type (O+) is common and the wait list from my medical insurance is 7 to 10 years due to high demand and I time is not a luxury that I have. I am also suffering from severe anemia, hypothyroidism, hypertension and also severe malnutrition.

I have found a private hospital in Mexico with a much shorter wait list and the cost of the transplant is about $100,000 USD.

My husband passed away and all I have is two wonderful daughters. I hope to get your compassion and that you understand that my biggest wish is to live longer and be there for my daughters, see them grow and spend time with them . I will be always grateful that thanks to you all and I hope get away from this agony that is affecting me and my loved ones so much.

I wish I had the ability to fund this surgery but I am not even able to work given my health condition.
