Have you ever wanted something so badly? But it was just out of your reach?
Let me back up a little. Most of you know my story but some of you seeing this may not. I became homeless at the ripe old age of 13. I didn't have many dreams because those had proved to be futile. I roughed it out in the streets and got involved in many things that should've killed me, but I didn't care. Pain was my existence and I needed to get rid of it. People used to tell me that when I was older I would care about my life and I would laugh in their faces because I knew the things I was doing would kill me long before I ever had a chance to care. However, at the age of 17 I decided that enough was enough, I had been homeless for four years and really wanted to try living a different way of life. I lived in many shelters and ended up back in the streets a few times, but I stopped doing those things that were killing me. I was only able to stop with the help of countless people. However, dreams were still nowhere to be found. At 19 years old one of the shelters I was living in told me I should go to college. Again I laughed, but I also registered. For the first time ever I enjoyed learning and something awakened inside of me. I started to create dreams.
One of my dearest dreams is to open rehabs/recovery homes with a different module that currently exists. Before I do all that I want to learn as much as I can. This is where y'all come in. I studied hard and even through being in the homeless shelter I managed to get a 4.0 in my studies and get accepted to one of my schools of choice of mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale. I want to give back to this world in the best way that I can and I need money to do that. I kept a night job while I was in school but that won't be possible if I go to Mount Saint Vincent the president of the college decided to pay my tuition out of his own pocket I have no financial support from any other area. The money you donate will be used for my food, other living expenses and the conferences I attend to share what my journey has been like and listen to others share theirs. In donating you will help me fulfill my dreams and help me continue to help others by getting the best education I can to do so.
If you have read this far thank you for reading.
If you cannot donate totally cool. I only ask that you share this, so maybe someone else can.
