As many of you know, my brother, Peter suffered an acute heart attack on May 4, 2016. This came as a shock to us all as Peter is only 41 years old and very phsyically fit. Unfortunately, this heart attack caused severe heart damage and heart failure leaving Peter hospitalized and on life support for four weeks where he spent over five weeks total in three different hospitals from Glens Falls Hospital, to Albany Med, and finally Tufts Medical Center in Boston, then back to Albany Med again for cardiac rehabilitation. On top of the Intensive Medical Care provided, he also had two procedures done including two stents placed in his left ventricle, and a tracheotomey as a crossover from being on a respirator for so long. Due to being transferred to three different hopsitals, ambulance costs have mounted on top of the already detrimental medical bills from each doctor, specialist, and hospital. Doctors have also mentioned that down the road he could potentially need a defibrillator, left ventricular device, or even a heart transplant.
On a positive note, he has since made a recovery to where he is now home, but he is left with a neuropathy in his feet making walking extremely painful, and he still is unable to work at this time. He continues to see multiple specialists for follow up visits to ensure a complete recovery adding to the medical costs.
Because of all the medical expenses incurred, any donations to help Peter get back on his feet and move forward would be more than greatly appreicated. Any donations received will go directly toward paying all medical bills between the time of his hospitalization to his current follow up visits.
It is never easy to ask for help or charity, but realistically medical costs are astronomical today even with medical insurance. Even the smallest donation can help make a dent during this extremely overwhelming and emotional time. Thank you for any and all of your support!
