Jose ( Roel) Trevino Jr. 31 of Rockport, Texas was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin Follicular Lymphoma on April 28, 2016.
He is the son of Jose Roel Trevino Sr. and Priscilla Ann Salinas of Rockport,Texas
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (also known as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, NHL, or sometimes just lymphoma) is a cancer that starts in cells called lymphocytes, which are part of the body’s immune system. Lymphocytes are in the lymph nodes and other lymphoid tissues (such as the spleen and bone marrow). Radiation therapy may be used to destroy lymphoma cells or to prevent the cells from growing and reproducing. It may also be used to relieve pain or discomfort caused by an enlarged spleen or swollen lymph nodes. For patients with NHL, radiation is generally confined to the lymph nodes. Depending on his needs, Dr. Carlos Rubin DeCelis will start him on radiation treatments with the possibility of chemotherapy, to prevent the growth of new cancer cells.
Given the circumstances, we have made this account in effort to gather donations to pay for his Radiation Treatments and all other Medical Expenses. He is undergoing numerous treatments of Radiation at this time and may have to undergo Chemotherapy depending on how he takes to the Radiation, followed by several MRIs and CAT Scans, along with monitoring his blood count level and the Lymphoma. Roel has had several Biopsies which consist of soft tissue bone removal from his lower right Tibia and a Bone Marrow Extraction to better evaluate him and make sure that the Lymphoma has not spread to any other areas in his body. He is continuing to work and still maintaining his job as much as he can which is becoming difficult for him at times due to the pressure and pain that he is having from his hips to the bottom of his feet. I will keep you all posted on his prognosis as he begins his Radiation treatments and follow up appointments from his Oncologists.
