Rally for Riley!

January 15, 2023 Natalie and Shane Kuykendall heard the words no parent ever wants to hear, “your daughter has leukemia”.

Last year brought multiple doctor visits, ER trips, recurring infections, and mysterious ailments leaving many unanswered medical questions regarding their 2 year old daughter, Riley.

On January 14th her health declined rapidly, leading to another ER visit. After Natalie demanded answers multiple tests determined a diagnosis of B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. That evening Riley was life flighted to the Hematology and Oncology unit at Cooks Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth where she immediately began more treatment and tests. 

For at least the next 4 weeks, Natalie and Riley will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Ft Worth near the hospital while she goes through chemotherapy and other treatments. Long term plans cannot be determined until after a months worth of testing.

Doctors have informed Natalie and Shane that, at best, the soonest Riley would be able to return to daycare will be 8 months from now. Doctors are hopeful for remission by the time she is 5 or 6 years old. At only 2 years old, this baby girl is battling for her life.
