Henry & Lena's Flood Recovery Fund

My name is Mary Evans Cook and I live in Bentonville, VA now but my hometown is White Sulphur Springs, WV. This Go Fund Me campaign is to help my sister, Lena Evans-Hoke and her husband Henry, residents of White Sulphur Springs, rebuild and recover from this unthinkable disaster.  

The phone call that my sister Lena received from her husband Henry only an hour after leaving her house to pick up her niece from gymnastics class, "Don't come home, go to higher ground now! The house is gone!" 

No time to prepare, no time to pack up belongings, no time to make sure the pets are safe, no time to react... only wait to see what was left after the waters receded. 

My sister's home is in the neighborhood that was one of the most severely flooded areas in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

This is, unfortunately, not an uncommon story told by many, who have lost so much in this unfathomable disaster.  I am setting up this go fund me page to help
 my sister, Lena and her husband Henry, get back on their feet after losing their home in the flood.  They lost all of their possessions in their home and the home shifted off of its foundation and is not safe to reside in. They have to start over from scratch. 

Henry and Lena, are active in their church and community, always ready to help those in need.  As I no longer live there but am a few hours away, I feel helpless that I can't roll up my sleeves to help them; this fundraiser is one of the ways that I am trying to help.

Lena and Henry have family and friends that live all over the country and I know that they too would want to help them out if they could. This could be a way to do that.  

Any little bit you would want to contribute will help them rebuild and recover!  And we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!
