Help a Friend in Need

Donation protected
Hey all, I'm not sure as to how far of a long shot this is, but I am willing to try anything I can to help a friend in need. My name is Alivia, I am a student at Orange Coast College, I work at a retirement home and in addition to that I volunteer with the terminally ill. I am constantly surrounded by the most charitable, generous, and light-hearted old souls, but I have never in my life met someone as optimistic and perseverant as my friend Katie Garcia.
I met her my freshman year and all throughout high school we would envy the rich kids and joke about our low-income-family-reduced-price lunches, but I would never think in a couple years these aspects would turn out to be much more serious.
As I soon came to find out, from the first hostess job Katie worked her sophomore year to the current Disneyland job she has now, she has always willingly given up her paychecks to her mom to help pay the bills.
She is a full time student with me at OCC and works full time to assist in providing financially anyway she can. The smile that is always glued to her face never portrayed too much struggle, but yesterday it was very evident.
Yesterday morning Katie was evicted from her childhood home.
Her mom, dad, younger sister, and herself had no other choice but to pack up the house they have been late on making payments on and to find another place they could call home, all in less than 24 hours.
They have stuffed what they could of their most valuable belongings in two trucks she said they planned on parking at a local Walmart over night. For the time being, she plans on staying with her boyfriend, her sister at her friends house, and her parents the front and back seats of their cars..
During such a rough life-crisis, family is the only thing I would want by my side. In this situation, it breaks my heart to see them all separated, not knowing when they are going to have the right financial stability again to stay in a space all together.
I have offered everything I could but it is just not enough... and if I had the money to, I would buy her her childhood house back and a new working car she has been trying to save up for for years. But all I am asking for right now, is assistance in helping them get back on their feet, as a family.
I looked up prices to hotels in between our school and her work and most of them average to about $150 a night, $150 a night for the next month totals $4500, and for the next 2...$9000. It would mean the world to her if they could all be in one place, with a roof above their heads, trying to make the best out of the situation at hand as Katie always does. If they are lucky enough to find something nearby and afforadable soon then the money could also go towards the first couple months of their rent.
Anything at all would help so so much and I thank any soul who has taken the time to read this story immensely. If this isn't something you are able to fund at the time, I still thank you for the time you took in reading, and ask simply for a prayer towards the Garcia family and their future. Much love.
