Donation protected
On Monday afternoon (March 22nd) my 21yr old niece Kelsey Martin was in a serious car accident.
She was immediately rushed by Ambulance to the GB Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville where she was then transferred that same evening to the Health Science Centre in St. John’s.
Kelsey’s injuries were as follows but not limited to as new issues coming to light as the days go by......
She was immediately rushed by Ambulance to the GB Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville where she was then transferred that same evening to the Health Science Centre in St. John’s.
Kelsey’s injuries were as follows but not limited to as new issues coming to light as the days go by......
-Broken femur,
-5 ribs fractured
-Lacerations on her liver
-Lacerations on her adrenal gland
-Collapsed lungs
-Fractured spine around her C7
-She has a pulmonary embolism
-Blood clot in her lungs.
Kelsey has undergone extensive surgery and additional treatments however her road to recovery from here on out won’t be easy. Kelsey will require a lot of physical therapy, items like bracings, crutches, dressings and other potential medical supplies unknown at this time, several trips in the future to and from St. John’s for therapy (later whenever she she is released) in the future. Not to mention the countless trips her parents are having to currently make back and forth daily to be with her all while still caring for their other two children and additional two foster children in their care. Unfortunately with my brother-in-law laid off from work due to the Refinery shutdown and no medical insurance coverage for Kelsey as their dependant( because she is now 21years old). All travel related expenses, all future therapy sessions, all required medical equipment and other medical aids such as prescriptions, bandaging, crutches etc... all these expenses rest on their shoulders! If anyone could spare anything to help them during this difficult time I am sure they would be beyond grateful for your kindness and generosity!
On behalf of the Johnson & Martin Family, we thank you all in advance from the bottom of our hearts!
