Our insurance company, like all other insurance companies, will not pay for any of the tree removal or heavy damages to our properties and public spaces from downed trees, construction equipment, etc.  Trees are typically only covered if they fall on a house which most of us around the neighborhood have already removed.  This does not cover any of our expenses related to the hundreds of downed trees on our properties, public areas, and going up the side of Oak Mountain.  This is still true, even if the trees pose an imminent threat to the neighborhood.  This will all have to be covered out-of-pocket by the Eagle Point Community at large.

 

We initially were trying to raise money for our property and our immediate neighbors, but due to the heightened interest in this GoFundMe, we are trying to expand to cover more expenses throughout the entire Eagle Point community.  Any funds donated will help immensely with clearing all of the downed trees and beginning to restore our neighborhood to some semblance of normalcy.   The amount of assistance we can offer to the neighborhood is directly dependent on how much money we can raise.   It is an absolute mess and many of our neighbors lost their entire homes to this tornado so we feel very blessed!  Eagle Point will forever be scarred by this tornado but there is a lot we can all do to help make our neighborhood beautiful and safe again.
