As many of you are aware, my 51/2 year old delightful Jack Russell Max encountered a mysterious spinal injury this week, which resulted in him being offered major surgery or to be put to sleep. After careful consideration and practical advice from the surgeon, I chose to go ahead. I had 10 minutes to choose, as "time was of essence". Max has had surgery, and as expected is not able to walk yet. This will require months of rehab. Max currently has a catheter, and requires a load of attention and care, which will have to include day care at the vets, to allow me to work.
I am eternally grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement from so many beautiful people. One incredible friend, had endured an awful situation with her fur baby, and was blessed to receive financial support from one of her friends to help her pay for vet bills. This amazing friend, has "paid this money forward" to me this week, which was a godsend, as vet bills are now in the 5 figure amounts. I plan to pay this money forward in future, and any funds raised from this Go Fund me.
Another gorgeous friend wanted to help out. I recieved this beautiful message this morning:
"Hi Mim I can’t imagine what you are going through right now. First your Mum, then Millie and now Max. Each time has come not just with a huge emotional cost but also a financial one. I’d love to send some money and I’m sure those of your friends who can would as well. Could you set up a go fund me account? Please? I tried to do it for you but have been defeated. A little bit from each of us is sure to help. Love you heaps and wish I could be physically there. Xxx"
