Help our beloved Doreen

Hello GL Community,

Many of you have recently asked about our beloved and devoted teacher Doreen. With her permission we wanted to share a little bit of what is going on.

Doreen had recently been planning and working towards cutting hours to focus on retirement and her health. Unfortunately, shortly after this adjustment she received a diagnosis of Esophageal Cancer. Currently, her hours are cut significantly back in order to put her effort into taking care of herself.

This has been a tricky adjustment for all of us. She has made a huge impact on the children, staff and parents' lives. She is a phenomenal and creative teacher, and works closely with the young minds in the older classrooms as they prepare for public school. Doreen has been missing her kiddos immensely, as well as the routines she is so used to. We are hoping to help relieve some of the medical costs and give her some peace of mind while she heals. We have created this fundraiser to assist Doreen with her expenses. Our goal is to make her recover as stress free as possible, allowing her to come back to work when she’s ready.
