Friends:
With permission, I share a very personal story in the hopes of gaining your urgently needed support...
Frances Ballard is a faithful woman of God who is an exceptionally dear friend to me. Some of you may know of the plight of her husband, Elder Charles Ballard, who suffered a debilitating stoke 11 years ago.
At the time of his stroke, Elder and Mrs. Ballard ran a very successful non-profit organization "The Institute For Responsible Fatherhood and Family Revitalization" which equipped tens of thousands of men to establish/restore active loving relationships with their children. In fact, some have called Charles Ballard the progenitor of the American Fatherhood Movement.
Faced with a mortgage, two children in college and third in elementary school, Frances, a trained nurse practitioner and educator returned to the workforce. Frances Ballard pressed forward humbly, quietly, often working two or three jobs simultaneously.
One could easily assume that all is "well", with Charles Ballard. However, several months ago Charles Ballard's condition took a turn for the worst, and he lost his sight, necessitating 24-hour care at a nursing home facility.
Unfortunately, nursing home care is exceptionally expensive, and Medicare absolutely does not cover the full cost. In fact, ten of thousands of dollars in arrears have accrued, and Elder Charles Ballard faces imminent eviction (July 15, 2016) from his nursing home. Yet, Frances is so humble has been very hesitant to ask for financial help.
Please know that Frances will be the first person to attest that God has been faithful; God has sustained her family over these last 11 years.
Urgent circumstances call for bold measures. So, now I ask for your help on behalf of the Ballards. Together we can can avert Elder Elder Ballard's imminent eviction from the nursing home.
I personally was blessed to be able to contributed $500. I pray that some will be moved to match or even exceed what I have given. Please seek God's guidance, and give in accordance with God's urging.
Thank you, in advance, for your support of this worthy cause!
