Fundraiser for Alex Tachiyama

Donation protected
My friends and I went to high school with Alex Tachiyama and were heartbroken when we heard of what he has had to endure over the recent weeks. None of us were particularly close with Alex but he had such an overwhelmingly positive presence about him. Walking past Alex he would always make sure to brighten someone’s day with a witty anecdote or a smile. I’m sure every Liberty alumni has their own “Alex” story.

On June 3, 2016 his mother unexpectedly passed away and on June 18, 2016 his father lost his long battle with cancer. Alex’s dad, Jamie, battled for two years and was blind and disabled, all while owning a Hobby shop. Jamie was active in Alex’s life being his football coach and teaching him how to lift. Jamie’s success through adversity was inspiration to his son Alex and his daughter Anna, as well as to hundreds of other people in our community, including myself.

As we all know, medical expenses are a burden on any family going through medical afflictions. We want to help Alex and Anna by raising as much money as possible through donations and a garage sale that we will be holding in July.  We know that Alex and his family have been so dynamic in our community and because of that, in this time of tragedy, we want to show Alex and Anna that the community has their backs.

There is no such thing as a trivial donation so please donate whatever you can to help this incredible family.
