In Memory of Rosana Braga Da Silva

It is with great sadness that we tell you that our dear friend Leandro (Lee) Vianna Da Silva and his sons Renan and Gabriel lost their beloved wife and mother Rosana unexpectedly when Rosana suffered sudden massive heart failure. Lee performed CPR and then Rosana was medevaced to Boston where doctors battled for 2 days to save her life. Rosana Braga Vianna Da Silva passed away at the young age of 52 on March 8th 2021. Her family has been left devastated and in a state of shock.
In addition one day after this tragedy Lee found out that his landlady, due to her own unforeseen circumstances, had made the decision to sell the house Lee and Rosana had rented and loved for the past 20 years. Lee found out he would have to move.
Rosana and Lee met in Rio de Janeiro Brazil at the age of 18 when Lee found Rosana’s lost driver's license and vowed to marry the beautiful young woman in the photo. One month after returning her license they were married. In 1996 they moved their young family to the United States where they each worked 3 jobs to make ends meet.
Rosana eventually turned her house cleaning work into a business. Lee later joined her and they worked tirelessly, year round, often 7 days a week. They were not just cleaners but miracle workers who left each home organized down to the smallest detail. They were a kind, gracious, and determined team both in work and in life, and they were an inseparable pair.
Some of you may remember Lee from surf sessions he would sneak in after work, before sleep (before sharks). Some of you may remember them both from the games of volleyball they would join as a quick respite from all their hard work.
Rosana is remembered by all for her laughter and jokes. Her family and friends say she never forgot a birthday or holiday, always calling, checking in, sending small gifts and cards. Her bright light touched everyone she met. Her smile was radiant. Rosana was a pillar of strength.
Without Rosana, Lee is and will be navigating both the emotional and financial hurdles of his losses and of the changes he will need to make in the months to come.
Many have been asking how they can help Lee during this time. This is one way. We thank you all for your kindness and prayers. For the food and help and generosity of spirit you’ve shown.
