Ollie got hit by a car

Hi friends, Christine here. Our family's rescue dog, Ollie, was hit by a car today and is currently at the vet's ICU unit.
Those that know me; you know that I get straight to the point so here's what happened: Today was our children's combined 3rd, 4th, and 5th birthday party celebration and Ollie slipped out just as guests were arriving. Ollie was out of the house for less than 5 minutes when he darted onto a road and was struck by a car. Unfortunately, the driver left the scene and left him hurt in the middle of the road - but my husband and a few passerbys were able to find him. With the help of these kind strangers, we were able to get him out of the road and home. We whisked him off to the vet during the birthday party. Ollie remains in the ICU at the vet in critical condition - he's in too much shock to fully diagnose but he's suffered a leg injury, a tongue laceration, some cuts, bruises, scrapes, and several broken teeth.
I didn't realize that just by taking him to the emergency vet, I was immediately in for a $2500 bill just for the initial round of treatment. I refuse to put a dog down if rehabilitation is promising. The vet's full estimate is $6K to $7K to make our dog healthy again, but it will be touch and go throughout the night.
Through the suggestions of Cutting for Business blog readers, this GoFundMe was set up to help us settle up our vet bill. If less than 16% of my blog's Facebook fans donated just $5, we'd knock out Ollie's bill in no time. It's with tears in my eyes that I say I'll update this page tomorrow. I have to go put our children to bed and explain why Ollie won't be giving them each his nightly kiss.
