Sofi’s Earthbound Mission
Hi, my name is Sofi, and I am a student at the Green School, located in the heart of the jungle in Bali, Indonesia. I have been selected to participate in an amazing learning experience called Earth Bound. This is the school’s first Earth Bound program, a travelling semester, where myself and 12 other students will visit several countries to tackle a variety of problems our world is currently facing. From volunteering with Syrian refugees in Lesbos, Greece, to taking part in the COP22 in Morocco, and working on organic farms in Umbria, Italy, we will be fully immersed in a unique, travelling and learning environment; a once in a lifetime opportunity. Having been at Green School for nearly three and a half years now, I have learnt so much about both environmental and humanitarian issues, and through that, have found a passion for both.
The total price for the trip is $15,000 USD; half of these are the school fees which are already covered. This leaves a further $7,500 USD I need to raise in order to cover all other costs - travel, food, accommodation etc. My target is to have the funds by August 1st, as the Earth Bound trip starts on August 22nd.
This money will help me travel to incredible parts of the world to learn more about extremely important issues that are occurring right now. Earth Bound allows me to completely engage and involve myself with these topics, to grow and learn and hopefully give back to the environment and the people we encounter along the way. I will be partaking in Earth Bound in the first semester of my final year at Green School, so this is the last opportunity I will have to be apart of this extraordinary and life changing adventure.
Please help me raise these funds in order to pay for the trip. It would mean the absolute world to me, and every dollar is appreciated immensely!
