I am Leslie Horning Carlson's stepmom.
Funds are needed for Leslie as she MUST have a lung transplant soon! She has a condition called Alpha 1 Auto Immune Disease. This disease has attacked her lungs and they have deterioriated to only 10% use remaining. This is a very debilitating disease. Without the transplant she will die in two years.
When the replacement lungs become available she will go to Iowa City for the surgery. She will be in the hospital for a period of time following surgery. Please pray that all goes well. When the decision has been made that she can leave the hospital it will be necessary that she remain in the Iowa City area close to the hospital for an undetermined time (1 - 3 months possibly). Therefore, it will be necessary for her to find lodging nearby for close monitoring of her progress.
All of this requires money. Money for travel, for motel/lodging, and surgery plus incidentals. Your help is needed.
Leslie is ony 45 years old and should be able to look forward to many more years of life. Please help with any donation that you can to help Leslie.
