My sister and her family lost everything in a huge fire that completely destroyed their home. Most heartbreaking of all, was that her two wonderful dogs (who alerted them in time to save their lives) did not make it out. Now they are homeless and heartbroken and need to somehow move forward.
Some of you may know Charlene and her 14 year old son from Milner Gardens or Horne Lake Cave Park. They would never ask for help themselves, so I am reaching out and asking for them.
What I am asking for is some help to get them back on their feet. They are avid cavers and have even coordinated huge cave rescues on the island. All of their gear is now gone. My nephew, who has never needed much materially, lost his laptop and all of his books and movies. I don't know how to put a monetary value on rebuilding a life. They did not have contents insurance. I would just like to help them out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. So far, I have been blown away at the support and generosity of our community. Thank you all for your kindness.
