Help Tena Fight Breast Cancer
Hello everyone, we are creating a go fund me page for our mom Tena Reeves who is fighting Breast Cancer.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer back in March 2019. In July 2019 just as we were ready to start treatments, her insurance was canceled because we could not afford to pay the $2,000 dollar a month premium increase. During that time her primary doctor delayed her treatment for months and later refused to continue treating her because she had no insurance. In the last two years her cancer has spread to her lungs and bones. We have been researching and doing what we can to treat her cancer the best that the doctors at University Hospital in San Antonio Tx can. But covid-19 has been delaying her appointments for the past year. All the doctors can do is keep her comfortable and now she has reached the point where the doctors says she needs chemotherapy first to shrink the tumors, then surgery to remove them and finally home hospice services. We now have insurance, but it will not cover all of the chemotherapy treatments, surgery and home hospices services. Together with this and combined with her having a stroke a few years ago and dad having a heart attack in 2016, it has depleted our family health care savings account.
Mom is a compassionate person who is constantly supporting others and putting other peoples needs above and before her own.
Tena has three children a Daughter Teresa, a Son Cody And a step daughter Jennifer. She has Four Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. Who she loves all of them a great deal.
She is Married to her husband of 27 years Christopher.
Throughout her life Tena has worked hard raising her children and grandchildren into responsible adults. She love children and babies and is a grandma to all. In her free time she likes to travel the US, visiting new places, watching fireworks, flying in aircraft, researching our family history and spending time with her family and friends.
We thank everyone who can help us keep her fighting because she is the glue that keeps our family together in times both good and bad, please help us keep our mom around.
