I am Tom White and I live in Mechanicsville, VA just outside of Richmond. Let me share my story about my friend Steven Brodie Tucker.
A few weeks ago, Steven came down with a cold and it turned out to be pnumonia. After treatment, he was still having problems and further tests indicated that he has a rare form of cancer in his chest.
He was scheduled for surgery at MCV in Downtown Richmond and had the operation June 24, 2016.
The surgery went well and the good news is that it was not the "worst case" they were told to prepare for. Rather, instead of having to remove several ribs, only portions were removed.
His family posted the following as the surgery was nearing it's completion:
"Steve is still in the operating room probably being closed up, but the surgeon has been out to see us. The difficult surgery is complete. Part of the middle and upper lobes of the lung removed. Just part of two ribs and a little of the spine removed and reconstructed with titanium mesh. Tumors removed. Unfortunately it may be a week or so before we know the results of the biopsy. The doctor said the missing part of lung should be no problem. The hardest part will be the soreness. Please continue to pray for low grade tumors and no infection. Thank you prayer warriors! You are awesome!"

The road to recovery will be long and Steven, who is just 37 years old has a lot of things ahead of him, mentally, physically and financially.
There is not much we can do about the first two except to continue to let him know we care and are thinking about him. And PRAY!
But we can help financially. Which is the purpose of this page.
Please share whatever you can to relieve the burden of money from his plate so he can concentrate on getting well.
