And, though the warrior's sun has set,
Its light shall linger round us yet,
Bright, radiant, blest.
--Don Jorge Manrique
While Logan’s battle with bipolar disorder ended Thursday, April 21, his influence and light will continue to brighten those who knew him. His warrior spirit is no longer caged in the body that was so tormented for so long. While our hearts are aching, we are grateful he is finally at peace after fighting his battle every minute of every day.
Logan will be remembered as a kind, smart, talented 14-year-old who liked to do things his own quirky way. He had a fun-loving, spunky personality and loved to be doing anything active: playing soccer with his traveling middle school team, swimming, playing in the snow, camping, digging 6’ holes in the backyard, and building blanket forts with his brothers. He was always up for an adventure of any kind. Logan was also musically gifted and played the drums, piano, and some guitar. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he loved service. He would do anything for anyone and continued that by donating his organs at his passing. He loved to help anyone who was struggling, whether it was with science or math or with mental health issues similar to his own. He was a friend to everyone.
His family has bravely stood by him every step of the way. No one will fully know or understand the great love, sacrifice, and courage his parents and brothers have shown as they helped Logan as he struggled to overcome his disorder. They wish to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers on their and Logan’s behalf.
Gary and Aironn and their sons are a great family who positively impact their community—wherever they have lived. They genuinely care about people and are the first to lend a hand to a friend or neighbor in need. Let’s return that gesture now as we help them deal with this tragedy in their life. The funds raised will be used for Logan’s funeral expenses, post-funeral care of his siblings, and mental health awareness outreach programs.
The Bishop family holds a special place in many of our hearts. We hope you find it in yours to offer your support to them now. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
