Help Bev in Her Battle with Cancer

Donation protected

Please join me in helping to raise money for a dear friend of mine who has been facing battle after battle ever since she was diagnosed with cancer. You’d think the biggest battle—the only battle—that a cancer patient would have to face, is dealing with cancer itself, which is huge, to say the least.  But since her illness, she has been out of work and has been struggling financially and emotionally on top of her serious health condition. So far, she has applied to several programs seeking financial assistance, including short term disability, and state funding but she keeps getting the run around. All she has received so far is $80 every two weeks and a bunch of excuses about why they won’t pay her the full amount. She is in no condition to do the necessary research and make countless phone calls in order to clear up these matters to get funds owed to her. Meanwhile, her landlord, knowing that she is sick and out of work, continues to harass her about the rent. She is constantly in fear that her landlord will soon start the eviction process, all while she prepares to start chemotherapy treatments. If that wasn’t enough, she had to endure unnecessary emotional stress from her previous doctor at a local Worcester hospital, when he attacked her religious beliefs during a surgical consult regarding the cancer. She is a Jehovah’s Witness and it is against her beliefs to receive a blood transfusion. When she brought in paperwork stating this (a standard accommodation), her doctor stated that ”her God won’t save her” and that if she doesn’t consent to the blood transfusion, she will die. But if she consents, then he will do everything in his power to save her. She felt completely devastated, vulnerable, alone, and afraid for her life. The trauma that he put her through still affects her now, even though it has been weeks since she switched her medical care to a different hospital. No one, with or without cancer, should ever have to go through such emotional turmoil.

No one can help to alleviate her emotional stress or change her health situation, but someone could possibly help to alleviate her financial. If you are able, please send a donation to help cover the cost of food, rent, and bills for the next 6 months while she is in cancer treatment and recovery. Our first goal is to raise $11,400. This will cover her basic expenses from March through August.

Rent $1400 x 6 mo = $8400

Food $200 x 6 mo = $1200

Bills $300 x 6 mo = $1800

Every little bit helps! Thank you in advance for helping Bev! Not worrying about her financial problems will afford her the ability to focus on getting through the chemo treatments and the healing process thereafter.

Be Well, Stay Safe, & May God richly bless you and your family :)
