Cavendish Game Birds Fire Relief-Rebuild
Donation protected
Dear friends and lovers of fine specialty homegrown foods,
I am seeking assistance for our empoyees as we recover from a massive fire that my family experienced at our farm in Vermont on March 13. These funds will be used to provide assistance to our 15 employees and their families, as they will be needing additional aid to supplement their unemployment funds while we get back on our feet.
We raise quail, pheasant, turkeys, goats, and we had just started raising pigs this year too, although sadly they perished in the fire. We are a family farm, run by my father and uncle. The farm started in my back yard when I was a little girl, and now I manage the farmer's market booth, which had really began to take off with great meat sales and delicious local & organic prepared foods. I was set to expand into the Burlington, Vermont farmer's market this summer, as well as New York City's Greenmarkets.
We have been providing fine dining establishments with our birds for over 25 years, and the quality of our product has led us to a strong place in the market, sending out all across the country, including to the white house. We have even had an article written about us in Gourmet Magazine. Our brand is well established and we are determined to rebuild and thrive once more.
A thousand thanks for your support.
Bless you all,
Leslie Thompson
