We are starting a fund in behalf of our son-in-law Shaun Stokes. Shaun was diagnosed with APL Leukemia on May 28th after being hospitalized on May 25th. He was experiencing migraine heaches for six days straight and went for an MRI. The MRI revealed fluid around his brain which turned out to be bleeding. Before this time Shaun was feeling absolutely fine and was coaching his two youngest daughters in softball. Sor far he has had several MRI's 10 CT's , two bone marrow biopsies, three spinal taps, and over 50 blood transfusions. He is still unable to lay down because it casues too much pressure and pain in his head so he must remain upright all day and night.
He will remain at the hospital for chemotherapy treatment and 24/7 monitoring until early July. After he is released he has six months of out patient treaments.
Anyone that knows Shaun and Julie will tell you that they dedicate their lives to their three daughters, Rylee (13), Casey (7), & Torii (5). Both Shaun and Julie are involved in all their daughters sports as coaches and in the past Shaun was a volunteer coach in baseball and football for Jefferson and Butler teams. Julie is by Shaun's side everyday while she is working, taking care of their daughters , coaching softball, being a class Mom, and taking care of the home as well. She has had to reduce her hours at work to make it possible. We know that with only one income she is constantly worrying about keeping up financial responsibiliteis and the additional monumental medical bills. Shaun and Julie are not the type of people to ask for help but we know they could use it now. Funds will be utilized to help this incredible father get the best care during this extemely difficult time. We sincerely appreciate any contribution that you are able to make with all our hearts. No donation is too small. Please put Shaun and his family into your prayers. Thank you so much Russ and Lee Selsor.
