Jens Final Year of University
Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Sanderson, I am a Metis mother of four children from a low-income family and I have been working hard to reach my goal of completing my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Manitoba for the past few years. My major is Computer Science with a specialization in Human Computer Interaction and Computer Graphics. My minor is in Philosophy.
I have always had an interest in Science and Mathematics receiving many awards throughout highschool, and my University education is based strongly in logic and the Scientific method.
It has taken me a bit longer because I have had quite a few detours. I had two children when I started and have given birth to two more babies during my studies. But even after struggling through hour and a half long bus rides with morning sickness daily and contractions through exams and then giving birth in exam periods I continued to strive for my goal. My perseverance will pay off this year.
I am already 85% complete and plan to graduate in the spring of 2017. Since I am no longer eligible for Student Aid, I need to reach out to every possible funding source to get my tuition, which usually averages 2500 a term, with textbooks and supplies. The first half will be used for the Fall term due Sept 1st, and the second half for the Winter term Due January 1st.
I am graciously thankful for any donations that lead to the achievement of my goals. I have worked way too long and hard to give up on them now. I just want to show my babies and the world that you can achieve anything you set your mind to and provide them with the financial security that they deserve and lift them out of poverty for the rest of their lives.
