Drew Blalock medical bills

Hello to all that are taking the time to read this post.  I need everyone to take a moment and think about what you were doing 3 days ago. 3 days from the time you read this post for the first time. Now imagine your entire world, your life and every aspect of  normality that you and your family know and imagine it ripped away from you. Every bit of sanity and security you have held on to just slipped from your grasp.
Last week my best friend Jimmy Blalock and his wife Christie experienced this first hand. What started as a summer get away with family ended with words that no parent should ever have the burden of hearing... CANCER... A few unusual bruises ended with a doctors visit where Jimmy and Christies 6 year old son Drew was diagnosed with Leukemia.
One day you are graduating kindergarten with your summer vacation and future at your footsteps and literaly the next day you begin the biggest fight of your life. A 6 year old should be worried about what cartoon show he is going to watch next or what super hero is his favorite. Doctors appointments and chemo treatments should not be on that list.
Jimmy and Christie now have put their entire life on hold. Careers have been put on the back burner, vacations, summer sports, everything that we take for granted has been taken from this family for an unforseen amount of time.  All the while Drews 10 year old brother Braxton is exposed to the realities of life. His young and innocent childhood is affected as well.  And before we go any further I ask that you please keep him in your thoughts and prayers so that he can have peace and understanding through this event.

Drew has been diagnosed with a form of Leukemia known as T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (T-ALL).
3 days after Drew enjoyed the sun, breeze and family fun he found himself sitting in a cancer center in Chapel Hill receiving his first treatment. From the eyes of a 6 year old one can only imagine what the change of pace and news means.
However from the parent of small children I can relate. As parents we feel that it is our job, our God given duty to protect and nuture our children and keep them safe forever. I suppose God has different plans for some folks and test families in different ways. I know, just as all of Drews family and friends do, that he is strong enough to overcome this hurdle. Drew is a ball of fire with moves like Jagger and WILL win his fight.

It will not be a quick or easy fight and until he comes out on top his family is going to need all the help that they can get. Doctors visits, bills, missed work, trips to and from facilities will no doubt add up quickly and we as #DREWSARMY are asking that you please take the time to help. Every prayer prayed and every dollar donated will make a difference in this little mans battle.
No child should have to fight this fight, but the ones that do cant fight alone.
This page has been created in support of Drew and the entire blalock family.  #DREWSARMY  #TEAMDREW
