Harper's Homecoming
Donation protected
Harper was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia(CDH). She was born at UCSF Benioff's Children's Hospital. After day 3 of life, she went on ECMO. ECMO is a life sustaining intervention for heart or lung failure. It acts as a lung bypass machine. Her diaphragmatic hernia was repaired while on ECMO. Harper was on ECMO for 11 days. After coming off, she still had a lot of things to overcome. Because of her birth defect she has small and undeveloped lungs. She also had a possible coarctation and a hypo-plastic aortic arch. She continued to fight and get stronger every day. Along with her CDH she has pulmonary hypertension. She is currently 9 months strong and has been in the hospital since birth. It has been a long journey with many ups and downs. And we still have many challenges to overcome. And many times we have questioned why this has happened. But we know God has been with us the entire way. She has already touched so many people's lives. We are so thankful and blessed to have this little miracle home with us! God has some big plans for this little girl!
